The installation of two 180,000 m³ LNG storage tanks is a central element of the Phase III extension. These tanks are designed with state-of-the-art containment technology, ensuring safe and reliable storage of LNG. This increased capacity is crucial for accommodating larger LNG imports and ensuring a steady energy supply for Taiwan.
Regasification Facilities
The new 1,600 T/h regasification unit allows the terminal to efficiently convert liquefied natural gas into its gaseous form for distribution through Taiwan’s energy grid. This enhanced regasification capacity ensures that Taiwan can meet its growing energy demand while maintaining operational efficiency.
Safety and Environmental Considerations
Throughout the project, Sofregaz has prioritized safety and environmental sustainability. The new facilities are designed to meet stringent international standards for safety and emissions, ensuring that the terminal operates with minimal environmental impact. The regasification process is also optimized to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
